The final episode of Marvel's What If...? promises an explosive conclusion, and we have an exclusive sneak peek at the highly anticipated finale, hitting Disney+ on December 29th. In this preview, The Watcher, Uatu, faces the consequences of his actions.
Throughout the series, Uatu has repeatedly broken the sacred oath of the Watchers by interfering with the Multiverse. Now, he finds himself imprisoned by three of his own kind: The Eminence, The Incarnate, and The Executioner.
In the clip, the three Watchers interrogate Uatu about his decision to not only reveal their secrets to mortals but also directly influence their destinies. Uatu defends his actions, arguing that he shared knowledge with heroes and that his interventions had ultimately positive outcomes.
He cites examples like Doctor Strange, who sacrificed his own soul to restore his destroyed reality, and Riri Williams, whose life he saved. However, the other Watchers remain unconvinced, pointing out inconsistencies and questioning his motives.
The clip highlights the central theme of What If...?: Uatu's journey and his evolving role as The Watcher. This season brings his story full circle, completing a trilogy that explores the Multiverse and features unexpected characters.
