Supermarket showdown: Sally Struthers reveals Bea Arthur's cutting remarks
Veteran actress Sally Struthers recently shared some candid and colorful memories of her late friend and fellow actress, Bea Arthur, best known for her role in "The Golden Girls."

During an appearance on the "Let's Talk About That! With Larry Saperstein and Jacob Bellotti" podcast, Struthers, 77, fondly recalled her encounters with Arthur at the supermarket. She described how Arthur, who passed away in 2009, would gleefully critique their mutual acquaintances, often using rather strong language.
Struthers, known for her roles in "All in the Family" and "Gilmore Girls," recounted how Arthur would initiate these impromptu gossip sessions by asking her opinion of someone they both knew. Any attempt by Struthers to offer a positive comment would be met with a blunt and often profane dismissal from Arthur.

These supermarket run-ins have become cherished memories for Struthers. She expressed admiration for Arthur's frankness and unfiltered personality, saying, "I loved how filthy she was. She was a big deal. I loved her."
However, Struthers' recollections of another "Golden Girls" star, Betty White, were less glowing. She described White as "very passive-aggressive" and shared an anecdote about an alleged incident where White seemingly made a comment about Struthers' weight when she reached for a cookie.
Struthers explained that she was visiting White's home to discuss a potential game show project when the incident occurred. She felt that White's remark, made in front of others, was a deliberate attempt to shame her about her weight.
