Springsteen praises White's singing in upcoming biopic

Rock icon Bruce Springsteen has given high praise to actor Jeremy Allen White for his portrayal of the musician in the upcoming film "Deliver Me from Nowhere."

In a recent interview on SiriusXM's E Street Radio, Springsteen spoke with host Jim Rotolo about visiting the movie set. He confessed that it was initially a bit odd to see someone impersonating him.

"However," Springsteen remarked, "you overcome that quickly. Jeremy is such a talented actor that you become immersed in the moment. His portrayal of me resonates with authenticity, and I believe fans will connect with it deeply. He's simply done an outstanding job."

Springsteen also shared that he's enjoyed spending time on set whenever possible.

He further expressed admiration for the "Bear" star's vocal abilities, highlighting White's impressive rendition of Springsteen's distinctive singing style. "He's a good singer," Springsteen affirmed. "He sings very well."

The biopic draws inspiration from Warren Zanes' book "Deliver Me from Nowhere: The Making of Bruce Springsteen's Nebraska." It chronicles Springsteen's journey creating his 1982 album.

Released after the monumental success of "The River," "Nebraska" represents a pivotal period in Springsteen's life, one he seldom discussed until decades later. As detailed in Zanes' book, the album was uniquely recorded on a cassette player in Springsteen's bedroom, without his renowned E Street Band.

The film, directed by Scott Cooper, commenced filming in October.

The cast boasts a talented ensemble, including Jeremy Strong, Odessa Young, David Krumholtz, Gaby Hoffman, Stephen Graham, and Paul Walter Hauser, among others. Springsteen shared with Rotolo, "It's an amazing group of actors. They've assembled a fantastic cast, making it a very exciting project."
