Skyblivion, the long-awaited Oblivion remake, is almost ready but needs volunteer support

A volunteer team has been working for 13 years to remake the 2006 game The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion using the engine from the 2011 game The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. The remake, titled Skyblivion, is nearing completion and is expected to be released sometime in 2025.

The team has recreated the original game from the ground up, incorporating unused concepts and ideas. A recent status update revealed that most of the regions in the game are finished, with only Nibenay Basin and Nibenay Valley remaining. The majority of questlines have also been completed, and the soundtrack includes the entire original music as well as 23 new compositions.

The developers are actively seeking assistance with converting all of Oblivion's plant life, an aspect of the project that has made the least progress. Volunteers with 3D art skills who are interested in helping with this effort are encouraged to apply through the official Skyblivion website.

The video closes by stating that downloadable content (DLC) and other issues will be addressed once the base game is released.
