In a candid conversation with Khloe Kardashian during the January 8 debut episode of her podcast Khloe in Wonder Land, Scott discussed his willingness to be open and vulnerable in his relationships.
"I don't think I was guarded in my last relationship," Scott explained. "That wasn’t the issue. When I’m in a relationship and I trust someone, and love someone—something that doesn’t happen often for me—I don't focus on being guarded."
While Scott didn't specifically name Amelia, he acknowledged his openness with her during their 11-month relationship, which ended in 2021. "I trusted the girl I was with and shared everything with her," he said. "It felt like a good, honest thing."
Scott, who shares three children—Mason, 14, Penelope, 12, and Reign, 9—with ex-partner Kourtney Kardashian, also admitted that his preference for dating younger women might have been a factor in the relationships not lasting. "My last relationship was good," he said, adding that they were simply in different places in their lives. "I tend to date younger than I should, and that affects things."
The 41-year-old reality star, who was previously in a relationship with Sofia Richie after his 10-year romance with Kourtney ended in 2015, hinted that he might reconsider rekindling things with his most recent ex when she has more life experience. "Maybe when she’s older, I’d get back with her," Scott said. "She’ll be more mature and have gone through more life experiences."
Later in the podcast, Scott and Khloe addressed rumors about their close friendship, laughing off speculation that there was something more between them.
"I don’t think there’s any truth to it," Scott said in response to questions from listeners about why they weren’t married. "People just make assumptions. They see we’re close, and they run with it."
He added, "I have kids with her sister. We’re not soulmates. Sure, I joke a lot and say things that may be too much, but I’m not serious."
