Ronaldo scores in his 24th consecutive year
The Saudi Pro League has reignited after a month-long mid-season break. At Mrsool Park on the evening of January 9th, Ronaldo played the full 90 minutes, registering 41 touches, an 83% passing accuracy with one key pass, and a goal.

In the 39th minute, Sadio Mane was fouled from behind inside the penalty area, earning a spot kick. From the 11-meter mark, Ronaldo shot towards the right corner, wrong-footing the Al Akhdoud goalkeeper. After scoring, the 39-year-old striker ran to the corner flag and performed his signature celebratory jump-turn.
This goalmarks Ronaldo's 24th consecutive year scoring, a streak that began in 2002. He also extends his tally to 17 goals and three assists in 20 appearances across all competitions this season. Notably, Ronaldo has netted 11 goals in the Saudi Pro League, placing him second in the Golden Boot race, one goal behind Al Hilal's Aleksandar Mitrovic.
In an Al Nassr shirt, Ronaldo has successfully converted 21 out of 22 penalties. The Portuguese star's only miss was a shot that sailed into the stands during a 1-0 defeat to Al Taawon in the King Cup round of 16 in October 2024.
Ronaldo currently boasts 917 goals in 1,256 matches, holding the record according to the International Federation of Football History & Statistics (IFFHS), excluding club friendlies. The Portuguese forward scored his first goal with a brace for Sporting in a 3-0 win over Moreirense on October 7th, 2002, at the age of 17 years, 8 months, and 3 days. He has expressed his ambition to become the first player to reach the 1,000-goal milestone.
Yesterday, before Ronaldo's goal, visitors Al Akhdoud surprised the hosts by taking the lead through Saviour Godwin in the 6th minute. In the 22nd minute, Sadio Mane equalized with a 1-1 scoreline. The former Liverpool striker also sealed the victory with a goal in the 88th minute.
This result propels Al Nassr to third place in the Saudi Pro League with 28 points, six points behind Al Hilal and eight points behind Al Ittihad, but having played one more game. On January 17th, Ronaldo and his teammates will travel to face Al Taawon.
