In an interview with CNN Sport's Amanda Davies during the Globe Soccer Awards in Dubai, Ronaldo dismissed concerns about City's recent dip in form, stating that every team experiences fluctuations. He believes they will undoubtedly overcome their current seventh-place position in the Premier League.
However, the Portuguese star suggested that some City players need to prioritize actions over words. He emphasized the importance of letting performance speak for itself, hinting at the need for greater focus and determination.
Ronaldo also downplayed concerns about Real Madrid's season, asserting his belief in their ability to clinch another Champions League title. He highlighted the intimidating atmosphere of the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium and Real Madrid's history of comebacks.
Addressing the issue of player fatigue and injuries, Ronaldo advocated for smarter training methods to mitigate the impact of fixture congestion. He suggested that shorter, more focused training sessions could be more effective in maintaining player fitness and reducing injuries.
Echoing Ronaldo's sentiments, Thibaut Courtois, who has battled injuries himself, proposed adopting training approaches similar to those used in the NBA, where high-intensity games are balanced with lighter recovery sessions.
Ronaldo also reiterated his belief that Manchester United's struggles are not solely attributable to the coaches. He hinted at deeper issues within the club, possibly alluding to ownership concerns. He even expressed his ambition to one day own a major club himself, hinting at a future in football ownership.
However, Ronaldo ruled out investing in a French club to challenge PSG's dominance, criticizing Ligue 1 for its lack of competitiveness. He reiterated his stance that PSG's financial strength and superior squad make them virtually unchallengeable in the French league.
