Mecha BREAK confirmed for spring 2025 Xbox Series X|S exclusive launch; PlayStation 5 version to follow
Chinese studio Amazing Seasun Games has confirmed that its upcoming third-person shooter, Mecha BREAK, will launch in Spring 2025 as an Xbox Series X|S console exclusive. This marks the studio's first console title, and further details about the Xbox exclusivity arrangement have been revealed.

Multi-Platform Release Plans
Mecha BREAK was initially unveiled at The Game Awards 2023 with a high-octane action trailer. Nearly six months after its reveal, an Xbox Series X|S beta was held in August 2024, and Mecha BREAK surpassed one million Steam wishlists, becoming one of the most anticipated titles at the time. Last December, Mecha BREAK received another update at The Game Awards 2024, confirming a 2025 release window with a new trailer.
In its first update of the new year, the developers have confirmed new details regarding the game's console exclusivity. Amazing Seasun Games confirmed that Mecha BREAK will debut in Spring 2025 exclusively on Xbox Series X|S. A PC version will also be available on Steam and Windows via the Xbox app, according to the game's official Facebook account. Mecha BREAK is expected to launch on "more platforms" later this year, with a subsequent comment from the Facebook account confirming that the game will be coming to PlayStation 5.

Xbox Support and Player Feedback
Furthermore, Amazing Seasun Games disclosed that developers from Xbox are assisting with Mecha BREAK's development to ensure features like cross-play and cross-save are available from day one. However, it is currently unclear whether cross-play and cross-save support will be available with the PlayStation 5 version later this year.
Some fans who played Mecha BREAK's open beta expressed excitement about the update, while others shared feedback on potential improvements before the game's launch. One recurring fan request is the removal of bots to ensure a true PvP experience. During the beta, bots were used to fill empty team slots before matches began.

Gameplay Modes and Customization Features
As shown in one of Mecha BREAK's previous gameplay trailers, the game will feature three modes with both ground and aerial combat, including "3v3 Deathmatch," "6v6 Hero Shooter," and "PvPvE Extraction Shooter." In the Extraction mode, players can team up in squads of three to battle for survival in a 200 km² combat zone.
Players on Xbox Series X|S and PC will be able to obtain special equipment and materials for their mechs, which are fully customizable with a wide array of weapons, parts, paint jobs, and more. Before the PlayStation 5 version is released, Mecha BREAK will likely have multiple post-launch updates. The game is shaping up to be a significant release in the mech combat genre, blending fast-paced action with deep customization options and a variety of gameplay modes.
