LCK 2025: T1 Gumayusi unfazed by Ruler's return

T1's ADC Gumayusi expressed confidence in securing the LCK 2025 championship despite facing strong opponents in the upcoming season.

During the LCK 2025 Media Day event held in Seoul on January 8th, T1 player Lee "Gumayushi" Min-hyeong acknowledged the return of formidable ADC rival Park "Ruler" Jae-hyuk.

"Ruler seems to have grown more mature after his time in the LPL. I'll have to work harder," he remarked, but confidently added, "I will defend my reputation as the only two-time Worlds winning ADC in the LCK."

T1 clinched their fifth World Championship title in November 2024. Veteran player Faker hoisted the trophy alongside teammates Zeus, who has since moved to Hanwha Life Esports, Oner, Keria, and Gumayushi.

Gumayusi has always considered Ruler a role model. Ruler achieved victory with Samsung Galaxy (now Gen.G) at the 2017 World Championship and has been a top ADC in both the LCK and LPL.

In addition to Ruler, other notable ADCs will be returning to the LCK in 2025, including Kim "Berserker" Min-cheol, who competed in North America, and Seo "Deokdam" Dae-gil, who improved his performance in the LPL last year. With their respective moves to DWG KIA and KT Rolster, fierce competition is expected in the ADC position.

The LCK Cup, the first cup tournament in LCK history, will commence on January 15th.

Teams will be divided into two groups, Baron and Elder, and compete in a single round-robin format. The "Fearless Draft" mode will be implemented, preventing teams from selecting champions they have used in previous sets, promising exciting and unpredictable matches.
