Facinelli generously opened his home to Garth and her family when they were forced to evacuate due to the destructive wildfires sweeping through Los Angeles.
These fires have ravaged over 20,000 acres of land since they began on January 7th. Garth took to Instagram on January 9th to reassure her followers of their safety, stating, "I wanted to let you know that we are safe. Peter and his family took us in and have been so kind." Garth, who shares three daughters with the Twilight actor – Luca, Lola, and Fiona – sought shelter with Facinelli, along with her current husband, Dave Abrams, and their dogs. Facinelli also has a young son, Jack, with his fiancée, Lily Anne Harrison.
In a video message, Garth conveyed her gratitude, saying, "So grateful for Peter for letting us stay at his house, me and all the girls and the dogs and Dave. Our home made it through the night and we are feeling so blessed and so fortunate and so lucky."
Despite the relief of their home surviving the fire, Garth expressed her sorrow for the widespread devastation in an Instagram caption: "I am deeply saddened for our city. and just feel numb. Our home was spared but so much to clean up and ready to get active to help our neighbors and friends and fellow Angelinos. Dave has been amazing transporting all our bags and boxes, loading and unloading. just keep everyone here who is suffering in your heart and prayers."
Garth acknowledged the outpouring of support and expressed her thankfulness for their safety and having a home to return to. Although Garth and Facinelli's 12-year marriage ended in 2013, their shared commitment to their children has fostered a lasting bond.
In a 2012 appearance on Live! With Kelly, Facinelli affirmed this enduring connection, saying, "She’ll always be in my life. We’re very dedicated to being great parents."
