Harry Hamlin casts doubt on Cortland's redemption in Mayfair Witches

The second season of Anne Rice's Mayfair Witches premieres Sunday night on AMC, continuing the story of Rowan (Alexandra Daddario) and her encounter with the demon Lasher (Jack Huston).

The first season concluded with significant changes for the Mayfair family, including Cortland (Harry Hamlin), who was turned to stone as punishment for his dark deeds. While Cortland's fate remains a mystery, Harry Hamlin, the actor who portrays him, hinted at what's to come for the character in an interview with ComicBook.

Hamlin revealed that Cortland seeks redemption and desires to become a better man after the events of Season 1, which revealed him as Rowan's father. Despite this, Hamlin believes that redemption is beyond Cortland's reach.

Season 2 will delve deeper into the complex relationship between Cortland and his father, Julien Mayfair, played by Ted Levine. Hamlin expressed his excitement for these scenes, describing them as "cathartic" and "phenomenal."

The upcoming season also stars Alyssa Jirrels, Alexandra Daddario, Jack Huston, Tongayi Chirisa, and Ben Feldman. Additionally, it will feature an appearance by Gabriel Freilich as Felix, a vampire from Interview With the Vampire, marking a crossover between the two series in AMC's Immortal Universe.

Anne Rice's Mayfair Witches Season 2 premieres Sunday, January 5th on AMC and AMC+.
