The airport welcomed 52.7 million passengers, a 15% increase from the previous year, solidifying its position as a leading global aviation hub.

Connectivity and growth

The airport's success is attributed to its extensive network and world-class facilities. Hamad International Airport now connects to 197 destinations worldwide, with 55 airlines operating from its terminals. In 2024, the airport added new airline partners such as China Southern Airlines, Shenzhen Airlines, Japan Airlines, Garuda Indonesia, and Akasa Air, further expanding travel options for passengers.

Record-breaking performance

Aircraft movements reached 279,000, a 10% increase compared to 2023, while cargo handling also saw a 12% rise, reaching 2.6 million tonnes. The airport efficiently managed 41.3 million bags, demonstrating a 10% improvement in baggage handling.

Local market expansion

Hamad International Airport saw a surge in local passenger traffic, with a 16% growth driven by Doha's increasing popularity as a tourist destination. The airport handled over 12 million point-to-point passengers, indicating a strong demand for direct travel to and from Doha.

Global reach

Passenger volumes increased across both eastern and western markets. Traffic to China saw a remarkable 87% growth, while emerging Asian markets also showed strong performance. Established European markets, including the UK, Germany, Spain, and France, achieved double-digit growth, highlighting the airport's global appeal.

Looking ahead

Hamad International Airport is committed to further enhancing its infrastructure and services. Plans are underway to add more gates by mid-2025 to improve passenger convenience and accommodate future growth. The airport aims to continue strengthening its global partnerships and contributing to Qatar's economic development.
