The aircraft, carrying 27 people including crew, came to a stop in a grassy area.

The United Express flight, flown by GoJet Airlines, had arrived from Washington Dulles International Airport and landed on Runway 11-29 shortly before 11 a.m. The incident occurred as the plane was taxiing after landing, the airport's statement explained.

Airport officials reported no injuries among the passengers and crew. All 27 individuals were quickly transported by airport shuttle to the terminal building.

GoJet Airlines spokesperson Elizabeth Dray suggested that icy taxiway conditions were likely to blame for the incident, telling CNN in a statement Wednesday that weather was a probable factor. Official findings have not yet been released.

The aircraft involved has been taken out of service, and all scheduled flights using that plane have been shifted to a different aircraft, according to the airport.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has announced that it will conduct an investigation into the incident.
