Glenn Close talks about career highlights and her kiss with Robert Redford

Glenn Close recently shared a memorable moment from her acting career on Watch What Happens Live, revealing the actor with whom she shared her best onscreen kiss.

When asked by host Andy Cohen, Close named Robert Redford as her favorite scene partner, recalling their kiss in the 1984 film The Natural. In a dreamy tone, she confessed, “Robert Redford… in The Natural,” adding with a hint of wistfulness, “I only got to kiss him once. Maybe we did two takes.”

In The Natural, Redford played Roy Hobbs, a baseball prodigy who revitalizes his team’s fortunes, while Close portrayed his love interest, Iris Gaines. The film earned Close her third Academy Award nomination, out of a total of eight throughout her career.

During the same episode, Close was asked to name a project she did for the paycheck, but she declined to answer, using her wit to avoid revealing anything. Close, although never having won an Oscar, is highly decorated, with three Emmys and three Golden Globe awards to her name.

In a recent Golden Globe ceremony, Close presented an award, but her speech was cut short after she used profanity. While discussing a treasured letter from Katharine Hepburn, Close’s comment was censored, but she was heard saying, "We are all so f---ing blessed and lucky." Despite not winning an Oscar yet, Close’s influence in Hollywood remains undeniable.

Cohen also asked her which of her roles deserved an Oscar, to which she responded, "All of them," keeping it simple and humble as always.
