In an Instagram post on Thursday, Moore shared that she had visited her Altadena property and "witnessed the loss firsthand." The post included three photos of the charred remains of her home.
"It's a miracle the main structure is still standing, for now," Moore wrote. "It's uninhabitable but mostly intact." She added that the fire had claimed their garage and a back house on the property.
"Everyone we know lost everything. Every house on our street is gone. My in-laws. My brother and sister-in-law – just 6 weeks away from their first baby. Our best friends," she shared. "Struggling with a strange sense of survivor's guilt. We love this community and are committed to helping it rebuild and recover."
The photos Moore shared show her husband, Taylor Goldsmith, a musician with the band Dawes, walking through a debris-strewn field that was once their lawn. Smoke still rose from some of the debris piles. Moore has been providing updates on her Instagram since the Altadena fire forced her family to evacuate earlier this week.
California Governor Gavin Newsom informed CNN that at least five people have died in the multiple wildfires burning across Los Angeles County, most of which remain uncontained. The rapidly spreading Eaton Fire has grown to over 10,000 acres and now poses a threat to approximately 13,000 buildings.
The Palisades Fire continues to scorch the coastal region between Malibu and Santa Monica. It has exploded to over 17,000 acres, remains completely uncontained, and has already destroyed at least 1,000 structures. This firestorm marks the most destructive in Los Angeles County history.
