Disney parks may soon welcome The Simpsons

A recent survey hints that "The Simpsons" may soon be coming to Walt Disney Company's theme parks.

Since Disney acquired 20th Century Fox in 2019, "The Simpsons" has been a crucial part of 20th Television Animation. Now it seems Disney is exploring ways to further integrate the iconic family into its brand.

According to a report by @DrewDisneyDude on X, Disney is surveying park guests about their interest in various aspects of "The Simpsons," including live-action projects, video games, and, most notably, "Character meet & greets at the Disney theme parks" and "New lands or attractions at the Disney theme parks." This suggests that "The Simpsons" could be making their Disney World debut in the near future.

Although "The Simpsons" has been under the Disney umbrella since 2019, this is the first concrete indication of Disney's interest in bringing the show to its theme parks. The Simpsons has been a fixture at Universal Studios Orlando for years, raising the question of whether this survey is related to a potential expiration of their licensing agreement with Universal. If Disney decides to pursue this new direction, "The Simpsons" could become a significant presence in their parks. With its diverse cast of characters and iconic locations, the possibilities for new attractions and experiences are vast.

Universal Studios' success with "The Simpsons" demonstrates the franchise's potential as a theme park attraction. Walt Disney World already dedicates large areas to popular franchises, and "The Simpsons" would be a natural fit. A recreation of Springfield with its iconic landmarks would be a major draw for fans. Even starting small with character meet-and-greets could significantly enhance the Disney experience for many visitors. This would represent the most significant integration of "The Simpsons" into the Disney brand to date.

Expanding "The Simpsons'" presence within Disney parks aligns with the show's continued success. "The Simpsons" remains a flagship program for Fox's Animation Domination block, and despite upcoming schedule changes, it will return to Fox with new episodes for Season 36.

Whenever "The Simpsons" eventually concludes, it will mark the end of a legendary television era. Amidst a changing TV landscape, the show has remained a constant for 35 years, making its eventual conclusion a significant moment in television history. If "The Simpsons" does come to Disney parks, it will provide a new way for the series to live on beyond its original broadcast.
