Dave Bautista ventures into the Lost Lands in gritty fantasy adaptation from Game of Thrones creator

"Imagine a world ravaged by war, where only the remnants of a lost civilization remain," warns the wanderer Boyce (Dave Bautista) as the trailer for In the Lost Lands unfolds, showcasing a desolate landscape.

This new film, directed by Paul W.S. Anderson (Resident Evil) and adapted from a George R.R. Martin (Game of Thrones) story, follows Boyce as he escorts the sorceress Gray Alys (Milla Jovovich) on a perilous quest.

The newly released trailer features Bautista (Guardians of the Galaxy, Army of the Dead) and Jovovich (Resident Evil, Hellboy) navigating this treacherous world, pursued by the relentless Patriarch Johan (Fraser James) and the deadly assassin Ash (Arly Jover). Their mission: to acquire a power that could change their fate.

What is this sought-after power? The ability to shapeshift into a werewolf, a transformation teased at the trailer's end alongside scenes of Bautista battling monstrous creatures.

The film's official synopsis reveals a desperate queen seeking love, who enlists the formidable witch Gray Alys. Tasked with obtaining the magical gift of lycanthropy, Gray Alys ventures into the Lost Lands with the enigmatic hunter Boyce. Together, they confront menacing creatures and formidable foes in a world shrouded in mystery and danger.

Vertical Entertainment (The Order, The Damned) will distribute this latest offering from Constantin Film, known for producing the Fantastic Four films, Monster Hunter, and Boy Kills World. Anderson collaborated with Constantin Werner (The Pagan Queen) to adapt Martin's story for the screen.

Anderson envisions In the Lost Lands as a groundbreaking cinematic experience, stating, "The film's unique visual style and narrative, enhanced by cutting-edge technology, demand the big screen treatment. I'm thrilled that Vertical is bringing this vision to American audiences."

Peter Jarowey of Vertical Entertainment praises the film, highlighting the enduring partnership between Anderson and Jovovich, and adding, "Dave Bautista's charisma and humor add another dimension, and the entire cast's chemistry is palpable."

Bautista and Jovovich join Anderson and Jeremy Bolt (Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City) as producers, alongside Jonathan Meisner (My Spy, Killer's Game) and Robert Kulzer (Agatha All Along). The executive producer team includes Martin Moszkowicz (Those About to Die), Kirk D'Amico (Simulant), Kevin D. Forester (Die Alone), and Richard S. Wright (Underworld).

In the Lost Lands will exclusively premiere in theaters on March 7th.
