Callum Kerr mourns tragic loss of mother and stepfather in France
Actor Callum Kerr is facing an unimaginable loss following the tragic deaths of his mother, Dawn Searle, and stepfather, Andrew Searle, in France.

A heartbreaking fam
In a statement posted on Instagram, the family acknowledged the tragedy and asked for respect during their mourning period. “At this time, Callum Kerr and Amanda Kerr are grieving the loss of their mother, Dawn Searle (née Smith, Kerr), while Tom Searle and Ella Searle are mourning the loss of their father, Andrew Searle,” the statement read. “No family member is available for media interviews or comments. We kindly request that their privacy be respected during this difficult period.”
Authorities investigate mysterious deaths
The tragedy unfolded in the small village of Les Pesquiès, France, where the couple had lived for nearly a decade. According to a report from BBC, the two were found dead in their home on Thursday after failing to meet a neighbor for a scheduled dog walk. The neighbor discovered their bodies around 12:20 p.m. and immediately alerted authorities.
A significant law enforcement presence was dispatched to the scene, including a forensic team, a drone unit, and a public prosecutor. While officials have confirmed that both individuals died violent deaths, authorities have not yet determined the exact circumstances. Public prosecutor Nicolas Rigot-Muller stated that “all hypotheses remain open.” Meanwhile, local mayor Jean-Sébastien Orcibal dismissed speculation that the deaths were the result of a burglary gone wrong, clarifying that "no knife was found."

A life built in France
Originally from Scotland, Dawn and Andrew Searle had retired to France roughly ten years ago. Andrew had previously worked as a fraud investigator, while Dawn had a background in project management. Their deaths have left the small community in shock, with neighbors describing them as a friendly and well-liked couple.
A special bond between mother and son
Callum Kerr, who is also a country singer, shared a close relationship with his mother. In 2023, he had the unique honor of walking her down the aisle at her wedding to Andrew Searle. At the time, he expressed his joy in an Instagram post, writing, “Not many people can say they walked their own mother down the aisle. What a pleasure!! I love you mum. Congrats to Dawn and Andy on their wonderful wedding day and here’s to a tremendous life together for the happy couple.”
With an ongoing investigation and many unanswered questions, Kerr and his family continue to grieve privately.
