Bruno Mars' $5 million wedding performance fee rejected by Jennifer Lopez

Blum, who was hired to plan Lopez's ill-fated wedding to former baseball star Alex Rodriguez, revealed the details on The Skinny Confidential Him & Her Podcast.

The "Jenny from the Block" singer and the 14-time All-Star reportedly considered Mars as a potential wedding performer following their March 2019 engagement.

During the podcast, Blum recounted telling Lopez that Mars' fee was "five." When asked to clarify if that meant "five million dollars," Blum confirmed, adding that the performance would only be "45 minutes, you get an hour."

Lopez was reportedly shocked by the price, with Blum recalling her saying, "Don't be ridiculous."

The couple ultimately split in 2021, five years after confirming their relationship. Lopez later rekindled her romance with Ben Affleck, marrying him in July 2022 (without a Mars performance). They divorced in August.

Despite Lopez and Rodriguez's wedding never happening, Blum offered advice to couples considering A-list performers.

"It's unwise to have a headliner as your main entertainment. No one wants to have their first dance to Coldplay or something. That's just silly," she said. "You want a regular band and maybe a DJ, then perhaps 45 minutes of Chris Martin or Elton John. Otherwise, the focus shifts entirely to them."

Representatives for Blum, Lopez, Mars, and Rodriguez did not immediately respond to requests for comment. Blum, author of "Wedding Planning for Dummies," stated she was free to share details about the planned wedding because she never signed a non-disclosure agreement.
