Boston Rob returns in The Traitors season 3 with a shocking twist

The Traitors season 3 kicked off with a dramatic twist as the cast expanded beyond its original 21 contestants during the three-episode premiere on Peacock.

The addition of two more reality TV veterans — Boston Rob Mariano and two others — kept the suspense high as the game unfolded.

The episode began with 20 players arriving at Alan Cumming's Scottish mansion, only to encounter a group of mysterious "followers" in black capes and masks. Cumming eventually dismissed the followers, but one remained, revealing himself as Survivor legend Boston Rob Mariano. The host informed the contestants that if anyone shook Rob’s hand, he would enter the game, and the player who did so would have the power to exile another contestant. After a tense moment, no one took the offer, but Rob was later “exiled,” not eliminated, which left viewers with the suspicion that he would re-enter the game — and they were right.

At the end of episode one, it was confirmed that Rob would indeed return as a Traitor, joining the three other Traitors already chosen by Cumming: Big Brother's Danielle Reyes, Survivor's Carolyn Wiger, and RuPaul's Drag Race’s Bob the Drag Queen. However, the twist didn’t stop there. Two more contestants were introduced: Big Brother champion Derrick Levasseur and The Challenge star Wes Bergmann. Both were raised in cages, adding an extra layer of suspense.

Derrick, known for his exceptional Big Brother skills, and Wes, a seasoned Challenge competitor, made their entrances as the game’s latest additions. Together with Rob, they were given the power to offer a Shield to a contestant of their choice. The game heated up as the first Faithful player, Wells Adams, was incorrectly banished, and the three newbies quickly began making their moves. Wes shielded Jeremy Collins, Derrick shielded Dylan Efron, and Rob protected Survivor champion Tony Vlachos.

As the episode progressed, the tension escalated. When the Traitors targeted Bob the Drag Queen in the Roundtable ceremony, Rob turned on Tony to protect Bob, leading to a dramatic betrayal. Tony, after being voted out, confronted Rob, calling him a “sell-out.”

Meanwhile, Real Housewife Chanel Ayan became the second victim of the Traitors, leaving only 17 original players. But with the addition of Rob, Wes, and Derrick, the stakes grew even higher. By the end of the third episode, the Traitors secretly selected three players to be placed in coffins, and another murder was set to unfold that night.

As the drama continues to unfold, fans can expect more twists, surprises, and potential additions to the cast. The next episode will reveal who the Traitors choose to target next and how the dynamic of the game will continue to evolve.
