Bath thrashes Saracens with hat-trick from Muir

Bath is on track to dominate the league as the winter season ends, putting them in a prime position to contend for the Premiership playoffs.

Saracens, hoping to secure their fourth consecutive win in December, journeyed westward, only to be effortlessly outmatched by Johann van Graan's well-prepared team.

In a commanding performance, Bath Rugby defeated Saracens with a record-breaking score, signaling their intent to challenge for the Premiership title. The match, which ended with a resounding victory for Bath, saw them score 10 tries, including a hat-trick by Will Muir.

Saracens faced an uphill battle early on, receiving a yellow and a red card within the first 15 minutes. Despite this, Bath had already established control, capitalizing on Saracens' errors with precision and power.

Finn Russell's exceptional cross-kick forced Liam Williams into a penalty try concession, setting the tone for the match. Further tries from Ted Hill, Cameron Redpath, and Muir secured a bonus point before halftime.

Bath continued their dominance in the second half, with tries from Joe Cokanasiga (2), Muir (2), Ollie Lawrence, and Sam Underhill. Saracens struggled to contain Bath's relentless attack and cohesive forward play.

This victory marks Bath's largest ever win against Saracens and places them firmly at the top of the Premiership table. While the season is only halfway through, Bath's performance suggests they are a force to be reckoned with.

Despite the loss, Saracens' director of rugby, Mark McCall, emphasized the importance of learning from the defeat and using it as motivation for the remainder of the season.
