Anne Hathaway and Nicholas Strong's hilarious twinning moment at the Golden Globes

Anne Hathaway and Nicholas Strong shared a fun and fashionable moment at the Golden Globe Awards, where Strong’s velvet mint-green suit caused a stir due to its striking resemblance to an outfit worn by Hathaway’s character, Mia Thermopolis, in the 2001 classic The Princess Diaries.

The pair’s matching bucket hats were the cherry on top, creating a perfect twinning moment.

While the outfits were nearly identical, the key difference lay in the color. Hathaway’s original look featured a soft periwinkle blue, a choice she humorously referenced on Instagram. "Sweetheart, I’m not mad you borrowed it, but I didn’t totally realize you were going to change the col... anyway, not important, congrats on your well-deserved nom for The Apprentice!!!" she wrote in a cheeky post.

Hathaway shared a split image of herself and Strong, showing off their strikingly similar looks, much to the delight of their fans.

The playful photo-op follows Hathaway’s recent confirmation that a third installment of The Princess Diaries is in the works. She teased fans with a post on Instagram in October that read, "Back to Genovia," referencing the fictional European country from the franchise.

Hathaway and Strong have previously worked together, starring alongside each other in 2019’s Serenity and 2022’s Armageddon Time.

Although Hathaway was not present at the Golden Globes, Strong was nominated for Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role for his role in The Apprentice. However, he lost the award to his former Succession co-star Kieran Culkin, who won for his performance in A Real Pain.

Despite the loss, Strong’s memorable outfit made sure his night was far from forgotten.
