Alaska Airlines pulls the plug on Dallas Love Field operations
Alaska Airlines is ending its service at Dallas Love Field. The airline's final flight from the city's secondary airport is scheduled for May 14th.

Going forward, Alaska's operations within the Dallas area will be based solely at Dallas-Fort Worth Airport, the airline announced.
"DFW's central location provides convenient access to all parts of the Dallas metro area," Alaska explained. "It also allows our customers to connect onward from Dallas to cities throughout the Midwest and along the East Coast through our codeshare partnership with American Airlines."
Alaska's presence at Love Field was acquired through its 2016 purchase of Virgin America. Historically, the airline has primarily operated flights from Love Field to Seattle, Los Angeles, and San Francisco, according to Cirium flight schedule data. Since February 2022, Seattle has been its only destination served from the airport, with five weekly flights currently.
Alaska Airlines' departure reduces the number of airlines operating at Love Field to just two: Southwest and Delta.
Southwest, headquartered near Love Field, is the airport's dominant carrier, serving 63 destinations this month, Cirium data shows. Delta offers a single route from Love Field to Atlanta, with four or five daily flights.
