Adrien Brody: I wasn't banned from SNL

Adrien Brody wants to clear up any rumors about his absence from Saturday Night Live. He says he's not banned, at least not that he knows of.

Back in 2003, Brody made a memorable appearance on SNL where he sported dreadlocks and imitated a Jamaican accent while introducing the musical guest, Sean Paul. This went against the show's usual introduction format, sparking rumors of a ban.

In a recent interview, Brody confirmed that he was never officially banned from SNL but also hasn't been invited back since. He admitted the controversial introduction was his idea, and although he practiced it during rehearsal, he may have embellished it a bit too much for Lorne Michaels' liking.

Brody, who had just won an Oscar for The Pianist, shared that he pitched many ideas during his time on the show, which seemed to surprise the SNL team.

Interestingly, Adrien Brody isn't the only A-list celebrity to clarify a rumored ban from SNL. Samuel L. Jackson previously believed he was banned for using inappropriate language during a 2012 episode. However, it was later confirmed that no such ban existed.

Despite not being officially banned, neither Brody nor Jackson has returned to SNL since their last appearances. Fans can only hope that they might be invited back in the future, especially as SNL is currently celebrating its 50th season.
